Albany Toastmasters Year End Meeting – December 8th, 2020
Everyone was festive with their Christmas costumes to celebrate the end of the year along with six guests. Fantastic speeches from Sam Blood and Yizhou Dia. The generous table topics master brought present and everyone enjoyed making up grand stories about what was inside them. A Grand feast was had during the extended break with ample time to discuss our holiday plans. See everyone back in the new year on January 26th.
Albany Toastmasters Meeting – November 24th, 2020
There was a grand turnout this evening despite the inclement weather with five guests giving toastmasters a try. Three fantastic speeches from Liam Mao, Adam Buckley (icebreaker) and Nick Woods. The table topics master Declan Langston put a spin on table topics with a truth and false style session. where the presenter told a story and the audience guessed if it was true or false.

Albany Toastmasters Meeting & Moments of Truth Session – November 10th, 2020
Super energetic meeting with our toastmaster John O'Leary giving our four guests the toastmasters experience. The word of the day was "Voice" this was used profusely throughout the meeting. Two educative presentations from Sherman Whang and Robert Wightman. We also held a moment of truth session with positive feedback and some recommended improvements to the club. Adam Buckley was officially inducted into the club.

Albany Toastmasters Meeting – October 27th, 2020
Well run and positive meeting run by Shishir Kumar this evening. The word of the day was "Respect" this was used throughout the meeting. Three awesome presentations from Declan Langston, Simon Burden and Robert Wightman. We also welcomed our newest member Adam Buckley.

Albany Toastmasters Meeting – October 13th, 2020
We finally got back into physical meetings with the alert level going down to level 1. Great to see everyone engaging with the audience. Two welcome guests who thoroughly enjoyed the meeting. Superb presentations from John O'Leary, Simon Burden and Sherman Wang. Everyone stepped up to fill in the roles of those who could not make the meeting.

Albany Toastmasters Meeting – September 8th, 2020
Well run, on time meeting despite the late start. The word of the day "Tactical" was frequently used throughout the meeting. Three informative and topical presentations from Greg Cannell, Yizhou Dai and Liam Mao. Everyone stepped up to fill in the roles of those who could not make it at the last minute.
Albany Toastmasters Meeting – August 25th, 2020
Back to a Zoom meeting this week, with a great turnout of 15 members. Fantastic speeches from Krystal Lai Wei, Jack Ma with his first Icebreaker speech and Rob Wightman with an informative educational speech on the importance of evaluations. Unfortunately, there was no break time to mix and mingle with everyone however we all had our own tea and biscuits at home.

There was a grand turnout this evening despite the inclement weather, with three fantastic speeches from Ying Li, Olesia Lyfar and Dallas Macris. Liam the table topics master provided us with some really thought provoking topics. Special thanks to Robert, Yasmine and Greg for picking up roles at the last minute.

Albany Toastmasters Meeting – July 28th, 2020
We had a fantastic meeting this evening, with three really informative speeches from Greg Cannell, John O'Leary and Rob Wightman. There was plenty of food to go around during the break, even with the large turnout and three guests. Yizhou Dia took up the challenge of being Toastmaster for the first time, keeping the meeting running smoothly.
Albany Toastmasters Meeting – July 14th, 2020
We had first physical meeting following the lockdown. It was awesome to see everyone getting back in to the swing of things and mingling during the break. There was a great turnout with new 5 guests. Fantastic speeches from Declan Langston, Gary Yuan and Nick Woods.
With the year coming to a close we presented the club awards.

Albany Toastmasters Meeting – June 23rd, 2020
Last online meeting this season. It was again a jam packed online meeting with 15 members & 4 guests joined. Amazing speeaches by Alexandra, Ying Li, Shishir and Rober Tang. Then was excellent topic presented by Daria on 'foods'. First time ever in our club we had overseas guest from SriLanka - Lasitha Ramanayke. Next meeting will be Installation of new officers and an awards night.

Annual Business Meeting & Election of Officers.
It was a jam packed online meeting 20 members & guest joined. Amazing speeaches by Sherman Wang, Rob Whightman. Then was excellent topic presented by Yasmine and conducted enthusiastic table topics. ABM ran by our President Daniel and Election process for next office by Shishir Kumar.

Albany Toastmasters Meeting – April 14th, 2020
Another amazing online meeting. Joined by guest Jack Ma and we all witnessed informative speech by Nick Woods, Lessia Lyfar's ice breaker speech and 'News Event- The science behind Covid 19 testing.' by Robert Tang. We were honored by the presence of our Area Director Dallas Macris. The best speaker award went to Olessia Lyfar, most improved Table Topic speaker was Gary Yuan and best evaluator was B. John O Leary.
Albany Toastmasters Meeting – February 25th, 2020
What an amazing evening we had. It was annual competition night.
Declan ran the humorous speech contest and Nicholas wood (winner) and Yizhou Dai was the runner up. Both will go to area contest to represent Albany.

Krystal was the contest chair for the International speech contest. Sherman Wang (winner), Shishir Kumar (runner up) and Daniel Wang (2nd runner up). Sherman and Shishir will proceed to area contest to represent club Albany.

Kudos to all the supporting members. Almost everyone participated with some role to make this event an exciting one.

Albany Toastmasters Meeting – January 28th, 2020
It was a great start of our meeting specially after the christmas break and new year. Prepared speeches by John O' Leary, Greg Cannell and Dallas Macris. Bard by Robert Wightman who spoke about Integrit, honesty and service. Krystal was Table topic master and ran the session beautifuly and involved the guests as well. Robert has done the excellent job of toastmaster and kept the session flowing. Rob has presented ACG certificate to Dallas. Congratulations to Dallas, one more step to go....

Amazing meeting today. Speeches by Nick Woods, Yizou, Waqar & Vanessa. Word of the day was 'Rejuvenate' proposed by Grammarian Shishir. Liam is back. Congratulations to PJ Sneah who won area contest in Evaluation contest.

We had club's first contest this year. Table topics and Evaluation.
Table topic have seen 7 contestants and Evaluation 4. It was amazing to see many new member have participated in this event which was heartening.

Albany Toastmasters Meeting – October 8, 2019
We had around 2 guests and one ex member Brad Neilsen visited us.There was educational by Simon Burden on 'Evaluation', & another educational by Rob W. on 'greet the guests'. Speech by PJ Sneah recognized as best speaker and ice-breaker speech by Krytal. Alexandra was awarded best evaluation Vaneesa awarded as best Table Topics presenter. Next meeting is on 22nd October and is contest night. Witness and cheer our table topic and evaluation participants.

We had around 4 guests and some exciting speeches by members.There was educational by Shishir Kumar on 'Organizing Your Speech', Ice-breaker speech by PJ Sneah (also recognized as best speaker) and speech on Mentoring by Greg. Best evaluation by Simon Burden and guest awarded as best Table Topics presenter.

Albany Toastmasters Meeting – August 27, 2019
Another exciting meeting was held, again with 8 visitors including some returning to join us. Speeches by Yizhou Dai (ice-breaker), Robert Tang at short notice, and Daniel Wong Buying a Car. A negotiation with his wife on the best car for their purposes. Great Table Topics session run by Waqar Ahmed, with several visitors joining in the fun.

Albany Toastmasters Meeting – August 13, 2019
Despite the wind and rain last evening, Albany Toastmasters met as usual at 539 Albany Highway at 7pm. Members were joined by eight very welcome guests, who were able to take an active part in the clubs Greg Cannell and Dallas Macris did a great job of managing the Moments of Truth exercise analysing the club’s activities and routines. Most comments were positive, but like any organisation, there is always room for improvement and progress. Waqar Ahmed gave his 4-6 minute icebreaker speech, describing his journey to New Zealand and his passion for Cricket. John O’Leary – BJ gave us an insight to the world of Mentoring and Coaching, noting the differences and using as an example a young lady whom he coached at his sport of Judo to International success. Table Topics as usual was a great success. The theme ‘emotions’ used by Declan Langston was humorously used by Rob, Robert and several of the 8 guests.

How to get started? We meet on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month at the Albany Presbyterian Church, 539 Albany Highway, in Albany on Auckland's North Shore. (Across the road from the new Albany Senior High School).
Meetings run from 7pm to 9.15pm.
