Albany Toastmasters Club member's are a busy lot. We're not content to just attend meetings and go through the motions. We love to get out in the community and talk about Toastmasters. We also love to share our public speaking skills with the rest of the world.

Recent projects

Speechcraft 2014

During September 2014, Albany Toastmasters organised and delivered a six week public speaking course, which we call Speechcraft, in association with the North Harbour Business Association. 

10 participants from businesses in Albany participated, and over the course of six weeks they were introduced to all of the important skills required for great public speaking.

Not only they did they learn the skills they also got the chance to practice those skills! Over the six weeks, participants had the opportunity to deliver five speeches each.

The course was very well received, with several participants joining our club afterwards. Our club members also came out in force to support the course, with between seven and 10 club members helping out at each meeting.

North Harbour Business Association Expo booth

Albany Toastmasters Club is helped organize a Toastmasters booth at the North Harbour Business Association Expo on 15 May 2014.

This was a great success, with lots of positive feedback from visitors to the booth, as well as several successful follow-ups afterwards.

Presentation given to The Chartered Institute Of Building Services Engineers

On 20 March 2014, Ross and Matt gave a 1 hour presentation to the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers, titled "Presentation skills for technical professionals".

The audience hall was jam packed, and the audience really seemed to enjoy what they were hearing.

Feedback afterwards was also positive, with the possibility of starting a corporate Toastmasters club raised by some of the attendees.
