Club Member Frequently Asked Questions
How do I login to the website?
To login to the members only section, you simply scroll down until you see to Member Login link. Clicking on this link displays this popup box.
Then start typing your name or email address into this popup box. After you’ve typed a few characters, you’ll see a list of possible choices appear. Just select your name in the list.
If you already have your password, then you simply type in your password and click this Login button.
However, if you don’t have your password or you’ve forgotten yours, then simply leave the password field empty and click the same Login button. Doing this will send an email to your registered email address with a link in it. By clicking the link, you’ll be taken to a page where you can set your password.
Once you’ve logged into the members only section, you’ll see a lot more links become available to be clicked on.
What can I use the website for?
The club website is a very useful resource for new and old club members. We've done a lot of work documenting all the roles that you might be assigned, from meeting roles to club contest chair. You'll also find resources, downloadable templates and tips and tricks for each role.
To access this information, first log in to the members only area. Once you've logged in, you'll be able to visit these resources by clicking on the relevant link in the "Members Only" sidebar area.
How can I find contact details of club members?
The member directory is a very useful section of the website that you can use if you want contact details for any of your fellow members. To access the member directory, you simply click the Private Member Directory link in the sidebar.
Doing this will popup this window, containing a list of all members in the club, along with some details about them. This member directory provides you with the phone numbers and email address of any member that you need to contact, which is especially handy for when you are Toastmaster and you have to follow up with everyone.
How do I update my profile?
The Edit Your Profile section is where you get to take control, and ensure that all your contact information is correct. By ensuring your contact details are correct, you ensure that you receive any important communication.
You also have the ability to link to your social media account, in order to start networking with your fellow club members.
To access this section, you need to click on the Edit Your Profile section. Doing this displays this popup window, with a lot of different fields that you can fill in.
The most important ones to check are Your Name, your Primary Email Address and your Telephone Number.
We also want to encourage you to fill in your social network account links, as well as upload a photo.
Uploading a photo makes it really easy for members to get to know each other. Especially for new members, having a photo to go with a name can definitely make it easier to remember who is who.
Where can I find additional help for improving my public speaking?
If you are struggling with a specific issue related to public speaking, then you can use the following resources:
- First off, talk to your mentor and fellow members. We are all here to help! If you want anyone's contact details, see the above question for directions on how to access the members directory.
- Read your manual - the Competent Communicator and Competent Leader manuals are excellent, well put together and well worth reading through a few times. Most questions you might have about public speaking and meeting roles are covered in there.
- Be sure to check out this website. We have guides and resources for completing all of the roles that you'll be assigned at our club. Each guide contains links to different resources that'll help you successfully complete that role.
- Read the Toastmaster magazine that you should be receiving in the post. This is an excellent resources, jam-packed with information on how to become a better communicator. You can also read this magazine online by going here.
- Be sure to check out the Speaking Resources section on Toastmasters New Zealand's website. Also check out the Toastmasters New Zealand website's District Supplies page, which contains information about how to order additional training materials.
- Browse around on the Toastmasters International shop. This site contains a lot of very useful information, and if you login to the international website, you'll be able to download many of these resources for free.
